TV shows like ‘Kirstie’s fill your house for free’ and ‘Kirstie’s Vintage Home’ on channel 4 is creating a big trend about second-hand and up-cycled furniture, which gives a second lease of life to something that would otherwise end up at land-fill sites.
I am a big believer that using what already exist in this world is the greatest step that a people can do towards a better world for the future, but for me this is not the only reason I work with second hand furniture, but simply by the fact that vintage furniture have beautiful shapes and a natural finishing that gives that charm and personalisation into a space that set apart from the mass production.
At the moment I am a big fan of Stag Minstrel range, they have beautiful tapered legs, bevelled front drawers and the signature ring handles.
I work with Annie Sloan chalk paint, which is also very sustainable with low VOC, no smell, water based and fast dry; to give a vintage shabby chic finishing, with or without the distressing look.
Bellow you can see one of the very sought after Stag furniture, the dressing table, with a versatile use around the house. It can be used as sideboard in the dining room, or as console table in the living room and hall, or as a desk in the home office and obviously as dressing table in the bedroom. The only down side is to try to figure it out where to use it.

  1. Hi

Love the website. Could you tell me which Annie Sloan colour is the Stag dresser you painted – and are you doing any more?

    Best regards

    1. Hi Kevin, thanks

I’ve used ‘Paris Grey’ and finished with dark wax over clear wax for an aged look. Yes I want to paint more Stag furniture, but at the moment I don’t have any in stock. If you are interested, you can custom order through the web site, and I will source the dresser and paint it at your desired colour.

      Best regards
