We’ve got some antique chairs from a Free-cycler and turned into a modern rustic look dining chairs to pair with the dining pallet table (from previous post).
The chairs were in a skip dump state, but when I’ve put my eyes on them I new the potential and what could be turned into. Straight away I’ve imaged them painted in white and recovered with a fine hessian or linen fabric for contrast and texture but working beautifully with the rustic of the pallet table. The finishing would receive a distressed look, to create a natural aged feeling, but at the same time making the chair modern enough to go well with the table and the rest of the decor.
The end result was very rewarding for all the trouble received with the upholstery process because we could achieve a fine look, inexpensive and sustainably done given a new lease of life to some chairs that would end up in a skip.
